My always main concern upon reading articles like these is: why do employers bother with the passwords anyway? Isn’t it enough to check out their applicant’s FB profile?
I don’t see the point why employers have to go through the applicant’s personal wall or do they want to read the messages as well?
This is a serious issue that FB addressed very well. We already have a term for it: “Shoulder surfing”. If anyone reading this want to learn more job interview advice and be the winning candidate check us out: http://careerconfidential.com/
We have lots of resources for jobseekers.
LLoyd does not request any Facebook passwords and we do not recommend that our client companies ask for them.
